About Us

The Asian Heritage Street Celebration (AHSC) is organized by the AsianWeek Foundation in cooperation with over 150 organizations in the Asian American community. The AsianWeek Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 committed to developing the Voices of Asian America. All proceeds from the Celebration will be donated to local and national charities.

The Asian Heritage Street Celebration is held every year on the third Saturday in May in San Francisco, California.

Celebration/Booth Coordinator - Thanh T Huynh - Administrative Coordinator for AsianWeek Foundation. He grew up in Pomona, CA and Wichita, KS later completing military service in 2007. Go LAKERS!

Hep B Education - Ellen Lee - In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, bacon and wine tasting (in that order.) She also is currently mentoring a very difficult adolescent through a volunteer program.

Website/Volunteer Recruiter - Steve Liu - Steve is all about uplifting the Asian American community. He found his calling one late night on the Internet looking for volunteer work as he is new to the Bay Area. Using some crazy skills he put together the Asian Heritage Street Celebration 2008 website. The website was one place to help out. He is also on a mission to find more people like him in is role as a volunteer… volunteer recruiter. Since volunteering doesn’t pay well, he hasn’t quit his day job at VMware…yet.

Programs - Christine Padilla - Christine has been involved in the Asian Heritage Street Celebration since its conception in 2005, programming entertainment, coordinating radio sponsorship and handling numerous bits and pieces along the way (EVENT MODE!!!). Long live the Asian Heritage Street Celebration!

Ethnic Media Outreach/School Awards - Angela Pang - Community Editor for AsianWeek. She has been involved in the Asian Heritage Street Celebration since 2006, helping coordinate the ethnic media sponsorships, San Francisco Unified School District APA Student Awards, and the E-newsletter.

Art Director - Al Perez

Logistics - Bill Picture - He’s also a freelance entertainment journalist, nightclub promoter and co-founder of Pink Collar Events, a full-scale event production company based in San Francisco.

AsianWeek/SF Giants Liaison - Peter Swing - A self-proclaimed genius/superhero, Peter’s role in the Asian Heritage Street Celebration is uncanny…especially since he can move objects with his mind. He works 25 hour days. His favorite color is CC3333, a hue that matches the color found on the 35 inch AsianWeek logo emblazoned on his back.
