The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is the primary consumer protection resource for California residents. DCA also licenses more than 2.4 million professionals in over 255 professions. DCA educates consumers by giving them the information they need to avoid unscrupulous or unqualified people who promote deceptive products or services. Our fundamental mission is to develop a fair marketplace where consumers can be assured of good quality service from a reputable business.
In that effort, we help consumers when they have a question or concern. We can assist with filing a complaint, mediating a dispute or simply providing the right resources. DCA’s new campaign called “Take Charge California!” urges consumers to take charge of their consumer rights and responsibilities. We want you to be smart, be safe, and be heard in the marketplace.
